Launch of UKESF website

{11 June 2010}

Just launched is a new site for the UK Electronic Skills Foundation, a collaborative group of major UK universities, public sector and electronics industry leaders to promote training, scholarships and employment opportunities in this sector.

The website provides direct access for students to apply to specialist summer schools, scholarships and work placement opportunities throughout Britain.

This is a unique programme in the UK, created by the National Microelectronics Institute, The Department for Business Innovation & Skills and The Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering & Manufacturing Industries to generate interest in the industry and to provide high-level channelling, mentoring and financial support to bright graduates.

Murray Stable Redesign

{11 May 2010}

Just launched is our new site for The Murray Stable, one of the major legal stables representing Ccounsel at the Scottish Bar.

We first worked with Iain Murray in 2006 to design and develop one of the only stable websites in the Scottish legal system. This year we were asked to refresh the design, keeping the professional yet approachable feel of the site, whilst providing greater usability for Counsel and clients.

We kept the back-end database structure allowing users to search and cross reference Advocates by areas of practice, experience and articles, added new sections and built the new front-end design into a MODx content management system.

Initial reactions to the new website have been universally complimentary - a rare feat in a world of interrogatories, consignations and avizandums!

Compugraphics International Ltd

{27 April 2010}

Look out for the new site we just launched for Compugraphics International Ltd (CGI to their friends), one of the world's leading photomask makers.

What's a photomask you say and why would you need one?

Just what we wondered when we first went up to Glenrothes to meet them. Hidden in an unprepossessing building on a mild-mannered industrial estate, lies a high-tech, state-of-the-art (and completely dust-free) manufacturing facility producing microscopic maps of electronic circuit boards - the designs that breathe life into our computerised world.

The masks are blueprints for devices that measure from 20 micrometres (20 millionths of a metre) to a millimeter in size - hard to see but impressive - and produced for universities, R&D institutions, semiconductor, optoelectronic and MEMs companies around the globe.

The new site has had a great reception from CGI's clients and we look forward to seeing the company grow into new markets both here and overseas.
