Net Resources to design new website for Scapa Flow

{15 April 2010}

We are delighted to announce that after fierce competition we have been appointed to design and build a new interactive, CMS website for the Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership Scheme in Orkney (SFLPS).

The SFLPS, led by Orkney Islands Council, Scottish Natural Heritage and the RSPB, (plus 80 other organisations and individuals), is a three year project, with funding of over £2 million to deliver 48 projects aimed at conserving, enhancing and promoting the Scapa Flow area.

Net Resources will be working closely with the project team in Stromness to build a multi-layered, interactive site delivering a rich media experience of the cultural, natural and historical heritage of the area. Key themes of access, biodiversity, education and research will be woven in with projects focused on the Landscapes of War, Landscapes of Peace, Natural Landscapes and Celebration & Communication.

Promoting the Scapa Flow heritage and area to the wider Scottish, national and international community is vital, but the site also aims to encourage local people and visitors to get involved in a wide range of activities, reaching out particularly to those prone to exclusion.

There are a lot of happy faces here! With a great affinity and love for Orkney; the archaeology, history and beauty of the area, we are really looking forward to working with the SFLPS to create an exciting new site.
