Free Web Design Training

{21 March 2005}

We are currently recruiting for our Scottish Enterprise funded Graduate Internet Course starting Wednesday 20th April 2005.

If you are of graduate calibre, unemployed for six months or more, been part of a large scale redundancy or have been out of the labour market for two years or more for domestic reasons, and can demonstrate an assertive approach to your current job seeking, then you may be eligible for a funded place on our Graduate Internet Course. (Other eligibility criteria may apply, check with your local Employment Services advisor).

With two days per week intensive classroom web design training over 10 weeks, you’ll learn how to hand code valid XHTML markup, add style to your sites with CSS, prepare optimised web graphics with Adobe Photoshop, database enable your web sites with MySQL and PHP and gain an overview of current e-commerce practises and techniques. After 10 weeks, you’ll embark on a 6 week client facing project, simulating a typical web design agency environment, culminating in a professional boardroom style presentation.

Exceptional candidates may qualify for further Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW Foundations) training or Professional Industry Placements following post GIC course assesment.
