Royal Botanic Garden Sites

{09 August 2010}

This week see new things growing at the Botanics.

Tuesday marked the re-launch of the Botanics main site with a new home page and site-wide widening, and the week before saw the launch of a new Celebrate Life site for the RBGE's commemorative donations programme.

Celebrate Life is a new venture for the Botanics, it allow people (members, sponsors and the general public) to make a named donation to the RBGE by adopting a tree, buying a leaf on the Hope Tree, commissioning a botanical painting, leaving a legacy and or remembering a special event or individual in the new online book. Three of these, the Book of Commemoration, The Hope Tree and Leave a Legacy, are now available online with the others to come onboard in the Autumn.

The main site sees a complete re-fresh of the Home page, with the addition of social networking features linking to the Botanics activities on Flickr, Titter and YouTube, a refresh of the layout, grid structure, colour palette and overall site-widening.
