Here’s a number of opportunities that could really bring your creative abilities to the fore…

Django Films, George Street, Edinburgh

Django Films is the flagship film studio of Sylvain Chomet, writer and director of the Academy Award nominated Les Triplettes de Belleville. Now located in Edinburgh, having moved recently from Paris (well wouldn’t you?), they are looking for a number of people to join them in their creative studios.

System Administrator

All–round IT systems administrator to be responsible for the day to day management, security, configuration and scaling of data storage and a modest network of workstations and a renderfarm. You should have some familiarity with a broad range of creative software packages and open source software and have good Windows and Linux LAN/WAN networking knowledge. Scripting ability is an asset for the streamlining of the creative workflow. Senior Animators

For this role, they are looking for animators with experience of working in a professional studio. This is essential. By senior, they mean at least 2 production credits on feature films as a lead animator/ animator. However, they do consider this as a guide only. They look at portfolios and showreels in their own right and are looking for talent and not just production credits. See below for how to apply.

Art / Layout Department

For all artists in the art department, Django looks for excellent traditional drawing ability, as well as additional specific skills such as graphic design or computer software knowledge including Photoshop and Corel Painter.

Set Dresser

Artist required with excellent graphic design skills for detailed design work. Computer skills with Photoshop would be an advantage, but it is more important to be able to demonstrate examples of a high level of drawing skills.

Business Development Managers, QMU /Napier, Edinburgh

Napier and Queen Margaret Universities are collaborating to initiate a shared commercialisation support service project across both institutions. Known as the ‘ 2kT Project’ it will be a 3-year partnership and they are recruiting for a number of roles including a Head of the 2kT Project and 5 Business Development Managers. Database and IT Officer, Napier University, Edinburgh
Salary: £17,985 to £20,211

Napier University’s strategy for growth has invested in a Development Office to increase opportunities to raise money from private sources and to grow the alumni function. This is a crucial role to effectively grow the Development and Alumni database which underpins all activity within the Development office. You will be responsible for all IT support within the department including the development and maintenance of our website. Software Developer, Nexus Software, Dunfermline

Web Applications Developer, Edinburgh
Salary: £26 – 30k (2 year fixed-term contract)

Edinburgh – based company looking for a Web Apps Developer/Analyst to join their team. You should have strong Oracle knowledge and a proven track record working with PL/SQL. You will also need to demonstrate strong software development skills using either Cold Fusion or Java (J2SE).
