Google’s IT Services team in Dublin is seeking a Web Tools Engineer to design, implement, and maintain web-based applications for internal business use.Sample applications may include a secured support web site, a workflow website, and other internal process tools. We offer an exciting opportunity to be a key contributor in implementing new tools to increase the effectiveness of our technical services group. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work directly with System Admin providing technical solutions to their support needs.Position requirements:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of web application development using PHP, javascript, Perl and Python.
  • Expertise with web technologies, i.e. XML, HTML.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux, and Apache.
  • Experience with SQL/MySQL, Oracle and logical database design.
  • Ability to interact with customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent follow through, technical documentation writing in HTML, good presentation and code documentation.
  • Python experience a plus.

The Institute of Petroleum Engineering (IPE) is an established world leader in oil and gas related research and teaching is looking torecruit a Graphic Designer to develop of distance learning material with a high quality graphics element. Based either in Edinburgh or Orkney, you will integrate into our existing graphics team to assist with the production of graphics to help develop and support the expansion of the Distance Learning equivalent of our Masters course in Renewable Energy Development. A creative individual, preferably with a minimum of two years’ graphics experience is required.
