Cisco Community Academy IT Tutor, Edinburgh
Salary: £21 – £23k (dependant on exp & qualifications)

This is a unique opportunity to join an exciting new Cisco Academy Project in Edinburgh. As IT Tutor you will provide tutor, mentor and learning support to a range of clients undertaking Cisco and related Curricula. Assessing, monitoring and reviewing student progress providing encouragement as necessary, adopting appropriate support mechanisms and contributing to the development of training materials.

Essential Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:

  • European Computer Driving Licence (Advanced) or IT qualification equivalent to VQ Level 3 or above
  • Over 2 years experience of working with this client group.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to utilise IT for proposal development, marketing collateral, report writing and budgeting

Desirable Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:

  • CIPD Certificate in Training Practice or equivalent.
  • Able to work effectively with key stakeholders (e.g. Jobcentre Plus, City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Enterprise, ESF, employers, clients, colleagues and staff) by establishing rapport and communicating clearly and convincingly at all levels to groups and individuals.
  • A1 & A2 qualifications or equivalent
  • V Units qualification or equivalent

E-Learning Developer, Napier University, Edinburgh
Salary: £20,211 – £23,459

Napier University has been awarded 2 European Social Fund ( ESF) grants to develop new Masters level modules (in flexible online format) in the areas of social science and e-pedagogy. They now require a E-Learning Developer to ensure the successful completion of the projects, (currently funded until Sep 2007). The successful candidate will be involved in the technical development of a range of online multimedia educational materials and support academic staff in all aspects of e-learning. Educated to degree level, you should have a wide range of technical skills in graphics software and web-authoring, and a good understanding of usability and accessibility issues. High level communication, interpersonal, time management and teamwork skills are essential. Technology Officer, The Communication Aids for Language Learning (CALL) centre

The CALL Centre at University of Edinburgh works with information and communications technology to assist children and adults with disabilities, as well as teachers, children and parents across Scotland. You will join a multidisciplinary team of eight and provide technical/ computer support, maintain a Loan Bank of specialist computer and communication aids and maintain and develop the website. You should have a relevant HNC/degree, experience in web design and PC support, good team working skills, flexibility, and the ability to complete goals with minimal supervision, as well as the scope to develop personal interests and skills. New Media Developer, Fife Council

You must enjoy being in a customer –facing role, have a relevant degree, with 3 years’ development exp (or 5 years’ relevant professional exp). The role will require talent and innovation to help provide Fifers with a choice of how they access council services and make sure the Council can deliver. You will contribute to the specification, development, implementation and evaluation of new technology to improve these areas.
