Better World Books is an exciting, young company driven by doing good business and supporting literacy. We are a self-sustaining social enterprise, new to the UK but well-established in the USA. We collect books that are surplus to others’ requirements and do good things with them. So far we’ve raised over £1.4million for literacy charities and kept thousands of tons of books out of landfill.

The Network Services/IT Specialist will manage a help desk / IT support system for the Scotland, UK office of Better World Books. They will support users on-site at our UK warehouse facility, and also support some users remotely at other locations. Duties will include wired & wireless network setup/configuration/troubleshooting, user training & support, PC/laptop setup & support, hardware/software maintenance and troubleshooting. This is a challenging position and requires someone with high energy and great interpersonal skills.

Qualifications Necessary:
Two years experience in a IT support position. An intermediate knowledge of Windows XP and Windows CE, knowledge of computer hardware installation and maintenance, IP networking, server management, installing software, reloading operating systems, etc. Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Terminal Services, Microsoft Office, Windows Server 2003, Experience with IP networking and Cisco Equipment, WAN links, and VPN remote access. Will have to carry/lift computer equipment often, and bend down to hook up computers, run wiring, etc. Bachelors degree necessary.

£20k-£25k per Annum (Dependent upon experience)
