Ruby on Rails
Course Outline
Ruby on Rails is a web application framework that uses the emerging Ruby language. It allows real world applications to be developed simply and with the minimum amount of coding. It is designed with humans in mind and makes it possible to create even CMS systems from scratch in a very short period of time.
Our course aims to set you straight on why you should care about web development frameworks in general, and about Ruby on Rails in particular. We start with a gentle introduction to the world of Ruby, the language upon which Rails is built, and progress into a look at the Rails framework itself.
We focus on why the perceived inflexibility of Rails is actually its most useful asset, and then prove it by developing a powerful, scalable and easily deployed (not to mention fully tested) application during day two
