Scotland for Golf
What we did
Scotland for Golf is one of Scotland's most established and successful golf tour organisers based in St Andrews, Fife. With a worldwide list of clients they are known for their professional and personalised service in creating bespoke group golf tours and vacations.
When Scottish Enterprise designated St Andrews as a ‘World Class' destination, the opportunity arose for Scotland for Golf to capitalise on a new demand for weekend and short breaks combining golf, leisure and tourism. Having worked with Net Resources since 2006, they asked us to design and deliver the new site.
The key aim of the site was to offer a quick and easy way to book a short breaks combining golf, spa and sightseeing activities.
Working with a wide range of resorts, hotels and golf courses, the Scotland for Golf team were able to combine availability of accommodation, transport and tee times in locations througout Scotland to create new listings of Last Minute, His and Hers and Weekend Breaks.
The new range of breaks also offered scope to include additional services and activities from luxury coach hire and spa treatments to exclusive ‘Golf with the Pro' days, professional lessons and club hire. Our job was to bring these all together into a comprehensive online booking, reservation and e-commerce system.
Scotland for Golf is renown for their expertise at arranging multi-course bespoke golf tours for groups large and small and the new site offered a chance for them to showcase their top tours and to make complicated bookings easy.
Finally as part of the ecommerce delivery we also implemented a Gift Voucher system so that all of Scotland for Golf's breaks, activities and services could be bought and given as a gift.
This provides a much requested value-added service to users who are not necessarily golfers but want to purchase for someone else
Scotland for Golf did not want to lose their existing branding or to change their aesthetic too radically, so our design focused on updating the look /feel and re-structuring the navigation and site architecture.
Colour coding helped to differentiate and define sections, creating online forms encourages enquiries and an easy to use online payment form.
We also added new data sets to include hotel and golf course information, mileage and distance charts, private and group lesson types, theh professional Golf Academy information and Corporate days out.
