Biobest Laboratories
What we did
BioBest Laboratories based at the Edinburgh Technopole near Roslin, is the principal private sector veterinary virology laboratory in the UK. They provide animal diagnostics, support vaccine development, genetic testing, and provide lab support for national cattle health schemes
Working with veterinary practices and farmers across the UK, their website is the key point of information on the certification and vaccination of breeds, and access to their testing and reporting services.
Our remit was to breathe new life into their existing site, maintaining the overall design but expanding the screen space, updating the typography and migrating to a content management system.
Critically BioBest keeps a national database of the vaccination and certification of large cattle herds which is referred to by vets and farmers daily.
We rebuilt their website from the templates up, taking them into a new MODx CMS system to give them full control.
Additionally we rebuilt their existing Herdcare database taking it from Access into MySQL to enable dynamic updating.
Now, staff in Roslin can update every feature and element of content on their website without having to go to a London developer.
