ProMetic BioSciences Ltd
What we did
ProMetic is a global biopharmaceutical company offering large-scale drug purification and development technologies and products. Headquartered in Montréal, Canada they maintain facilities in the UK, USA and Canada with further business activities across Europe, Asia and the Middle-East.
We were asked by the ProMetic BioSciences Ltd team to create a new site to reflect the activities of their teams in Cambridge and the Isle of Man where products are manufactured and to build an online shop to serve their global customer base.
Initial design, development and CMS work was completed in HTML/CSS and MODx and then integrated with a new shop built in Magento OS.
Designs created for the HQ site (www.prometic.com) formed the basis of templates for both the front-end and shop pages, and we applied bespoke Magento development to enhance the logic for ordering batch sensitive, date-controlled stock to ensure quick, accurate dispatch and delivery.
We then integrated a FedEx API to provide up to date shipping rates for worldwide deliveries, modifying the Magento tax codes and customer account details before integrating the shop with the Protex payment gateway.
This ensures that customers in the UK, Europe and North America all have the correct application of EU/UK VAT and invoicing documentation for tax audit trails.
The combination of Modx and Magento has given Prometic the ability to manage content, data and products throughout the site and shop, from their offices in Canada, Cambridge and the Isle of Man.
Both the CMS and Magento also give key staff the ability to manipulate key page and title descriptions as well as meta tags to enhance their SEO within a cost-effective framework that they can grow with.
