Web Jobs in Scotland
Posted by Sara DoddWeb Designer, Inigo, Edinburgh
Salary: £18-20k pro rata
Inigo, the Leith based web design and development agency is looking for an Inspirational Designer to fill a gap in their team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide great designs that they can use in their projects. They’re not just looking for anyone, you’ve got to be good. You’ve got to know that you can make people go “Wow!” when they see a site design. You’ll also have great attention to detail, be committed to a very high quality of graphics, layout and typography and be aware of web standards and best practice.
You will of course be great at working on your own and in a team, and must be able to manage your own workload and be confident in working closely with their clients without constant supervision.
Here are some of the key skills they’re looking for – the rest can be worked out through the interview process:
- Fluent in Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver (or similar)
- Able to take designs from flat file to high standard XHTML/CSS compliance quickly
- Some experience with Flash/Actionscript – though not absolutely necessary
- Knowledge of designing for Web 2.0 applications (AJAXy stuff) a distinct advantage
- Experience of design for content managed and ecommerce sites a must
- Good standard of written English a real plus as are non-geeky interpersonal skills
What they offer:
- £18-20k pro rata (dependent on experience)
- 5 weeks paid holiday plus public holidays
- Flexible working hours – as long as the work is done
- If you want to work less than five days a week, that’s okay
- A great place to work – in sunny Leith Links – that’s flexible and friendly
- Lots of opportunities to shine – as our designer you’ll be the face of our work
You must be able to work in the UK and you must be able to arrange your own accommodation. Also, if you don’t have more than a few URLs, please don’t apply, you need to be a designer with lots of output
If everything above is good for you – or even if you’ve got some questions – do apply and we’ll contact you. Send a CV and URLs to Dan Frydman, MD by email to: dan@inigo.net or apply online. Applications for the first round of interviews close on September 1st 2007.
